Millions of people around the world cried this afternoon. Tears of joy as the first of the Chilean miners were rescued in an extraordinary series of heroic events. There were amazing scenes. Starting when we saw that brave rescuer, Manuel Gonzalez, in his tiny white cocoon pop down the chimney like Santa Claus and emerge amongst the trapped miners.
And then he stood in his red suit like Captain Marvel, hands on hips saying 'You’re going home'.
